Witnessing

Some people think that you have to go door to door trying to explain to others about God, Jesus and salvation, which is okay if that is your gift.

Witnessing is informing someone about something; and there are several ways one can do that. Most individuals do not have the same level of intelligence, nor do they have the same type of personality, but there is a basic way everyone can witness, and that is by exemplary living. Let us not complicate things; most people know right from wrong and the need to put others first. Tell others you live the way you do because that is the way the Bible teaches us to live.

1st Timothy 4: 12

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
If you spend your leisure time in a place where sin is running rampant, then you are telling others that it is okay for them to participate in the same activity. Attending church places you in a glasshouse that tells everyone that your life style is what Christian living should be like and the peace and prosperity that you enjoy is a direct result of divine obedience to your God. You will experience peace, prosperity, happiness, contentment, good health, long life and a great inner joy. You will realize that as long as you maintain a good relationship with God, any thing that might happen; good or bad; will be okay either way it goes because you have God with you and He is always in control. For example, it is ok if you have a flat tire on the way to work and it is okay if you do not.

Luke 1: 37

For with God, nothing shall be impossible

Matthew 25: 35 & 36

For I was an hungered and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Matthew 25: 40

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

It is a good thing to go to prison and visit the prisoners, but there are different types of prisons that people get themselves into, such as the prison of a lying tongue, strong drink, gossip, adultery, gambling and on and on. We can show them a way out through Jesus Christ, using His strength and knowledge to guide us. There are many ways to witness for Jesus other than going door to door and they will put jewels in your crown which you will receive in Heaven.
